Forum

The Forum and Basilica were completed by the mid-2nd century AD. These buildings represented the heart of Leicester’s social political and religious life as well as providing a location for a marketplace.

The Forum was an open square surrounded on three sides by a colonnaded area containing shops, while the Basilica was a large building which was the administration centre of Ratae Corieltauvorum.
