Venus Figurine
Findspot: Redcross Street; the modern Peacock Lane
A white terracotta figure of Venus. In her left hand, she hold her gown by her side. This figure is broken above the navel and just above the ankle.
There are many theories about what the function of these Venus figurines would have been. It is likely that they have a religious significance, although a connection to the Roman goddess, Venus, is not proven - this is just the name they have been given in modern times.
